Today we remember how crowds of people waving palms welcomed Jesus as king as he rode from Bethphage into Jerusalem on a donkey, only days before he was arrested. Palm crosses will be distributed at all the services today.
The service begins near the Royal Garrison Church. Bring a branch or some greenery from home to wave as we process to the Cathedral where the service continues. The Choir sings the Passion, the account of Jesus’ arrest, trial and death. This year the setting is by Richard Lloyd from the Gospel according to Saint Matthew, and the Communion setting is David Price’s new Missa Orbis factor (for Choir, Organ and Strings). Preacher: Bishop Michael Turnbull.
Join the Cathedral community as it gathers around the altar for the central celebration of the Christian faith. All welcome.
