Dear Member of the Friends of Portsmouth Cathedral.

At our meeting on 26 March 2021 your Council discussed what programme of events might be feasible in 2021. Given the uncertainties still surrounding the pandemic we felt that it would be imprudent to organise events before September this year. However we agreed that it was important for you to have a say in what type of events that you would like included in an autumn programme and indeed in a programme for 2022.

Potential options for such a programme include talks focussed on the Cathedral’s architecture and artefacts, visits such as the one originally planned for Highclere this month and social gatherings; particularly as we have not had the opportunity of meeting each other for much of both this year to date and last.

We are keen that our programme should complement and not duplicate events put on by the Cathedral, so please bear that in mind when making your suggestions. Your views and suggestions are most welcome. These should be sent to the Chairman of the Friends –Colonel Jonathan Lloyd at coljslloyd@gmail.com. Given that the next meeting of the Friends Council is due to take place on 6 May 2021, please provide them no later than Friday 30 April 2021.
