Join us on an exciting tour that delves into the unusual architecture history of the Organ of Portsmouth Cathedral.
For Heritage Open Days 2026, we are happy to announce that we will be offering a selection of our Specialist Tours for free!
Often perceived as a modern building, the Cathedral’s history dates back to the 12th century. Join us as we delve into the architectural timeline of Portsmouth Cathedral, from the 12th-century chapel to the ‘new’ 1990s west end.
Following our weekly lunchtime concert, Lunchtime Live (1310 – 1400), we will be exploring Portsmouth Cathedral’s Organ, and how this instrument not only plays a key part in today’s worship but also contributes to the architecture of the building.
When booking our Organ Tour, please read the accessibility information. Please note that the Visitor Safety Instructions will need to be read and agreed to before the start of the tour.
