Sachin Gunga, Sub-Organist
Born in Derby, Sachin was trained as a chorister in Derby Cathedral Choir and studied organ under Dr Tom Corfield. Sachin read Classics at Trinity Hall, Cambridge, followed by a Master’s in Music at the Birmingham Conservatoire, under Henry Fairs and David Saint.
He subsequently held organ scholarships at Truro Cathedral and Wells Cathedral, completing his ARCO diploma in 2011. Sachin then became Assistant Organist at Llandaff Cathedral, where he also made his first appearance as an organist on Radio 4 and Songs of Praise.
He was then Acting Assistant Director of Music at both Lincoln Cathedral and Wakefield Cathedral. Sachin joined Portsmouth Cathedral as Sub-Organist in January 2018.
