Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do at Portsmouth Cathedral, from welcoming visitors to arranging flowers. We’re always pleased to welcome new people to the volunteering teams and we currently have opportunities in several areas.
We’re currently looking for new volunteers in the following areas…
Learning & Education Volunteers - If inspiring, young people is what you do this is the role for you.
Shop Assistant - Whether you have experience in retail or want to learn, then join our shop team.
Holy Dusters - Do you find peace in cleaning? You would be welcome to join us and keep our Cathedral Church the beautiful space we all enjoy.
Welcomers and Guides - Are you interested in history? Then this is the role for you!
Lunch Club Volunteer - Is your passion for food? Then please come and create!
Events Assistant (Bar or Front of House, this is an wonderful opportunity to engage with the wider community).
Flower Guild & Floristry Assistants (help us create the right welcome for any occasion).
Keep in mind that to volunteer in our inclusive Cathedral Church, an individual does not need to worship with us, but just be sympathetic with the beliefs of the Christian faith and our Anglican heritage.
Consider your family and friends, is there anyone looking for work experience, recently retired, or wishing to make new friendships? Volunteering is a fantastic activity to do if looking for more experience to add to your CV and develop your skills for future employment. The time commitment varies but is generally not more than a couple of hours a week. Full hands on training provided.
