Get Peddling with the Cathedral Cycle Route
Following last year’s success, the Cathedral Cycle Route is happening again this June.
This year we will be cycling the 19 mile, flat route to Chichester Cathedral. There will be two rides taking place: a steady-paced ride, open to all abilities on Saturday 25 June, arriving in time for Evensong. A second ride will also be taking place aimed at more experienced cyclists on Monday 27 June. Just as last year, this promises to be a heart-warming, fun, community event but
The Cathedral Cycle Route lets pilgrims around the UK arrive by bike thanks to a unique partnership between Sustrans, Cycling UK, the British Pilgrimage Trust and the Association of English Cathedrals. Linking all 42 Church of England cathedrals in a new initiative to promote greener travel and mental and physical wellbeing, the 2,000 mile Cathedrals Cycle Route is the invention of academic, entrepreneur and keen cyclist Shaun Cutler.
