National Storytelling Week at Portsmouth Cathedral
Portsmouth Cathedral invites visitors to celebrate National Storytelling Week by creating their own personal story within the walls of the historic Cathedral. From January 30th to February 5th, four stations will be set up around the Cathedral where visitors can draw inspiration from the building and prompts provided to create their own unique story.
The Cathedral has played a role in countless personal stories throughout the years and this is a chance for visitors to add their own chapter to the Cathedral's history. Visitors can choose from a variety of methods to create their story, including drawing, talking, typing, or even using a typewriter.
All stories submitted during National Storytelling Week will be collected by Cathedral staff and may be used in the summer Cathedral library and also will be part of the Cathedral's summer project. By submitting a story, visitors are giving permission for the Cathedral to use their story in any way they see fit.
