Covid-19 Guidance for Christmas Services
Masks are mandatory at all times inside the Cathedral, unless you are part of an excerpt group.
We’re looking forward to welcoming you to join us for carol services this Christmas at Portsmouth Cathedral. To enable everyone to have a safe and enjoyable Christmas we ask you observe the following guidance when visiting the Cathedral.
If pre-booking is required for the service you are attending - remember to bring your booking confirmation for scanning, either on a phone or printed. Please double check the date and time you have booked is correct.
Entry for services is via our main visitor entrance at the South Door, when queuing please make sure you leave enough space between yourself and other groups.
Doors will be open around 30 minutes prior to services, for some of our busier services including carols, please ensure you are in your seat at least 10 minutes before the start of the service, otherwise your seat may be given to someone on our wait list.
Please ensure you arrive with your group together, this is especially important for our busier services to ensure checking-in can run smoothly.
Seating is unreserved and on first come, first served basis - we therefore can’t guarantee all members of your group will sit together.
For services with pre-booking, we have a very limited number of spaces that will be available on the door. We advise those without a pre-booked spaces to join us online for our live streamed carol service on Wednesday 22 December.
You must always wear a mask when inside the Cathedral, including when you are singing, unless you have a medical exemption.
If you have been told to isolate, have any symptoms of Covid or have recently tested positive – please do not attend the Cathedral and follow NHS advice.
