The first of a new series of evening organ concerts celebrating the completion of the Cathedral’s fine 1861 Nicholson organ, and the new en-chamade ‘Trompete de Maris’, will be given by Gordon Stewart, Resident Organist at Huddersfield Town Hall. Gordon was for 15 years one of the regular conductors of BBC television's long-running series Songs of Praise, and he has been musical director for broadcasts on BBC Radio 2, 3 and 4. The programme for the concert includes the world premiere of Noel Rawsthorne's Marche Triomphale. Tickets £10, (£8 concessions) through Eventbrite http://bit.ly/2tPjcs6, on the door, and at Cathedral Shop.
