A seminar comprising short presentations from a range of professionals speaking from differing perspectives, followed by open discussion. Death obviously means very different things to different people; everything from a failure to extend life at considerable cost to acceptance that the 'time has come'.
The seminar will be chaired by Dr Amanda Freeman - Consultant Paediatrician and Chair of the Clinical Ethics Committee at Portsmouth Hospitals Trust. It will open with a case presentation given by Dr Huw Jones - Consultant in Palliative Medicine. This will be followed by four short presentations given by:
