New priests will be ordained at this special service in our cathedral.

No booking required.

The candidates have all previously been ordained as a deacon and spent at least one year serving a parish in that capacity. They are now ready to be ordained as priests, which means they’ll be able to celebrate Communion. They will continue to serve as curates in parishes throughout our diocese.

On the feast of the Baptism of Christ, we renew our own baptismal vows and at the end of the service all are invited to join in as we process to the seafront for the traditional Blessing of the Waters at the start of the new year (and come in for a swim if you choose!)
