Following last year’s success, the Cathedral Cycle Route is happening again this June.
This year we will be cycling the 19 mile, flat route to Chichester Cathedral. There will be two rides taking place: a steady-paced ride, open to all abilities on Saturday 25 June, arriving in time for Evensong. A second ride will also be taking place aimed at more experienced cyclists on Monday 27 June. Just as last year, this promises to be a heart-warming, fun, community event but
The Sarum Cycle, a series of 13 painted meditations on Christ’s Passion by Nicholas Mynheer, will be on display at Portsmouth Cathedral throughout Lent and Easter.
Join us on a Good Friday journey for all ages as we travel around the Cathedral, tracing the journey of Jesus to the Cross and on to the promise of Easter.
Join us at Portsmouth Cathedral for The Three Hours on Good Friday, a time of deep reflection on the suffering and sacrifice of Christ. This solemn service, led by The Very Revd Jane Hedges, will be structured around meditations, prayer, silence, and music, guiding us through the final moments of Jesus' earthly life.
You will have the opportunity to sing in the magnificent surroundings of Portsmouth Cathedral for this annual devotional service of Stainer's 'The Crucifixion'.
The Easter Eve Vigil is the first service of Easter, led by The Bishop, as we gather to celebrate the resurrection of Christ. This special service includes the lighting of the Paschal Candle, symbolising the triumph of light over darkness, and the renewal of baptismal vows.
A quiet and reflective service of Holy Communion following the Book of Common Prayer. This simple, said service includes prayers, scripture readings, and the opportunity to receive communion.
A special Easter Day service at #PompeySundays, our informal cafe-style service suitable for all ages. Followed by an Easter Egg hunt.
Our celebrations of the resurrection of Jesus, begun last night, continue with festal services today.
Our Easter Day services conclude with joyful music from the Cathedral Choir.
Delight in our weekly recitals live from the Cathedral, featuring members of the Cathedral Music Department, and special guest artists.
