The title of this year's Exhibition is 'High Days and Holidays'.
The 57 pieces of work on show are from Hampshire Calligraphers members who range from near beginner to professional calligrapher. The little notice beside each piece of work gives the title of the piece and the name of the calligrapher.
Some of the pieces of work are for sale, and several notices on the display boards give contact details for anyone who wishes to purchase a piece or to commission a piece by one of the calligraphers.
Hampshire Calligraphers are an enthusiastic group of people who share a love of calligraphy and lettering. We are a friendly group, from near beginner to professional calligrapher, intent on learning more, improving our skills and promoting the art and craft of calligraphy in all its forms.
We run regular Saturday workshops with invited tutors on a variety of calligraphy and calligraphy-related topics. We also publish a full-colour Newsletter for our members several times a year, and hold an Exhibition once a year in several venues around Hampshire.
Hampshire Calligraphers is affiliated to the two national societies: the Calligraphy and Lettering Arts Society (CLAS) and the Society of Scribes and Illuminators (SSI).
