Christmas Fairs Past

Volunteer Co-ordinator, Rachael shares a short blog ahead of this weeks Christmas Fair. on Saturday (10 Dec)…

As I have become more involved with the knowledgeable and enthusiastic community of volunteers that surround our place of worship. I have felt so welcomed, Thank you!

In the journey I have taken in the past few weeks, I have met so many loving and giving people, who have been unfailingly gracious in providing me with all the advice and help I have needed, regarding organising this year’s Christmas fair. If you don’t know, this year’s fair is on Saturday 10th December 11am – 2pm. Donations are needed, please see notices or the flyer available in the welcome area. But enough of the obvious plug for this year’s fair and back to Christmas past. I wish to highlight two women who have both inspired me to keep trying and giving more….

The picture is of Diane Johnston and Joan Eddings, when they were running the Jewellery stall at the Christmas Fair some 30 years ago! Joan is now 101 and has retired from volunteering but still comes to our lunch club. By the way she set up the lunch club 40 years ago. Diane has been a diligent volunteer for many years and is available to talk to and purchase donated items from, again this year.

If you would like to give some time to help this year, please email me on volunteer@portsmouthcathedral.org.uk or pop-along and enjoy the fun this Saturday from 11:00am-2:00pm.

Thank You all,
Rachael
