If you are one of our valued Volunteers you will have received two important emails from our new system ChurchSuite in the past week. The first was an invitation to login to ChurchSuite and the second was regarding Safeguarding Training.  If you are also on a rota, you may have had emails regarding that as well. 
 
Please follow the link to Login on the first email.  One of the many advantages of ChurchSuite is that you are in charge of your own data.   In the second email click on the words "please use this form " to complete the very short form to inform us how you would like to complete your Safeguarding Training.  Even if you have completed the training within the last two years, please complete the form and select that option, as doing so will create a tag on the system.  Next year the Cathedral has a Safeguarding audit for which we must evidence that all volunteers have the correct level of training. The form is also available here.
 
We are grateful to have the expertise of Julia Barton the Diocesan Safeguarding Trainer, who has offered to provide Safeguarding Training to our volunteers in person.  There are two dates available, please indicate which you are able to attend, or if you would prefer to complete the training online.  If you choose the online option, then you will receive an email with instructions.
 
Both 'in person' sessions will take place in Becket Hall.
 
Please note that safeguarding training needs to be completed every three years.  Many of you will have last completed this training in May 2021 in person and will have received a paper certificate. 
If you volunteer as an LPA or Anna Chaplain then you will have completed the 'foundation level' training online, but you are still welcome to attend the in person 'Basic' Training sessions, as a top up or to join in with the discussions.
 
If you believe that you have completed the training within the last two years, then please tick that option on the form rather than emailing directly.  You will then receive an email, from ChurchSuite, with instructions on how to update your settings so that recruitment staff only, at the Cathedral, can view your training record.
 
We are so lucky to have such a large team of dedicated Volunteers at the Cathedral, but this in turn creates a significant workload when we, for all the right reasons, change systems.
 
If you have difficulty accessing emails, then please call the office and a member to the team will be able to complete the form on your behalf.
